World Heritage Education Project
Sønderskov-School is a public school, located in the city of Sønderborg in the southern part of Denmark, close to the German borders. The school has an enrolment of 680 pupils. Some of these pupils are of Arabic origins. The school has about 60 teachers.
Sønderskov-School is involved in international cooperation. The school participates in UNESCO Education, Associated School Project (ASP) in two programmes “World Heritage Education (WHE) and Baltic Sea Project (BSP).
World Heritage Education project:
At the moment, we are running a World Heritage Education project together with Jordan, Syria Egypt and some local public schools in Denmark. We would like to have Syria as a new participant.
The targets of the project are to bring Arab and Danish pupils together in order:
1. to involve them in the protection of the world’s natural and cultural heritage 2. to give them a chance to participate in the conservation and presentation of cultural and natural heritage from local to global levels. 3. to promote intercultural exchange, respect and tolerance 4. to develop a better understanding for each other 5. to reduce prejudices as early as possible 6. to integrate foreign languages and new media into school life

The project in practice:
The project started in 2005. Every year, we set a group of pupils up to edit a newspaper about World Heritage and being young in the different countries. The pupils are at the age of 13 to 16 years old. We expect that our partners either participate with producing some articles or make their own newspaper. After that, the teachers exchange the newspapers and give the pupils a chance to discuss the different topics in the newspaper.

التراث العالمي
مدرسة السوندرسكو. هي مدرسة رسمية تقع في مدينة السوندربورغ جنوب الدانمرك. عدد الطلاب في المدرسة في الوقت الحالي حوالي 680 طالبا من صف الروضة و لغاية صف العاشر. بعض الطلاب ينحدرون من أصل عربي. في المدرسة حوالي 60 مدرس.
مدرسة السوندرسكو هي مدرسة منتسبة لليونيسكو و تشارك في برنامجين، أحدهما التراث العالمي.
التراث العالمي تشترك مدرسة الوندرسكو في الوقت الحالي في مشروع التراث العالمي مع كل من الأردن و مصر. و نود توسيع التعاون الى سورية الغنية بالتراث.
أهداف المشروع هي توعية التلاميذ العرب و الدانمركيينو تربيتهم على -الحفاظ على التراث الطبيعي و الحضاري. - إعطاء المشاركين فرصة للمشاركة في الحوار التراثي و الثقافي على صعيد عالمي. - تحفيز التبادل الحضاري و الإحترام المتبادل. - تقارب وجهات النظر. - تقوية التلاميذ على الإتصال و ذلك بإستخدام التقنية الحديثة.
المشروع من الناحية العملية. لقد بدأ المشوع في عام 2005. و تقوم مجموعة من التلاميذ بتحرير عددين من جريدة سنويا يتبادلونها فيما بينهم. تتناول هذه الجريدة مواضيع متعددة منها و أهمها التراث العالمي.
